Thats why when Gurpreet was wondering whether he was doing the right thing by hanging on, I told him that youre young and havent even started for the national team yet!If youre an Indian footballer, you would normally start for the state team. Then you would aspire for the I-League, then for the ISL and then finally to play for the national team. So in that sense, if you get an opportunity to go abroad, there is no reason to not go. In my case, within 2-3 days of my training at Sporting, the head coach asked me to go to the B team. Not enough people know of this or write about this, but I felt I was judged on what I had played in the past. So my advice to young footballers would be to go where the coach has seen you. Give yourself time.
