WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Wake Forest is one win from effectively locking up a bowl berth. A visit from Virginia shapes up as the Demon Deacons best chance to earn it.Wake Forest (5-3, 2-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) plays host to the Cavaliers (2-6, 1-3) on Saturday. The Demon Deacons are in pretty good shape -- they entered November with five wins for the first time since 2011, also the last time they played in a bowl game. But if they dont take care of Virginia, they may not make it to the six-win mark. They face No. 5 Louisville and No. 3 Clemson in consecutive weeks before ending the regular season against a Boston College team that showed North Carolina State last week that its no pushover .Were not concerned with who we play in two weeks, three weeks, safety Ryan Janvion said. We have a chance to beat anyone on our schedule. Its not about who we play, its about how we play and what we do. Its not about the other team, its not about what they do. So were focused on Virginia, and were not thinking about anything else but beating Virginia this week. And for all the progress Wake Forest has made in Dave Clawsons third season, it also has shown its not immune to the confounding losses that marked the past four years in Winston-Salem. The Demon Deacons are coming off a 21-13 loss to Army in which they struggled in the red zone and threw three interceptions. The Cavaliers have lost three straight since beating Duke on Oct. 1, with two of those losses coming to No. 18 North Carolina and No. 5 Louisville. They seemingly had an upset of the Cardinals in hand before Lamar Jackson led them to a 32-25 victory. Our team is getting better with every time we play a game, first-year coach Bronco Mendenhall said. Its fun to watch the transformation happening. Its steady. Its methodical. But it is happening.---Some other things to know about the Virginia-Wake Forest game:BENKERTS BACK: East Carolina transfer QB Kurt Benkert will make his second career start on North Carolina soil for the Cavaliers. He threw for 336 yards and three touchdowns in the Duke victory, and is coming off his first three-TD game since then when he did it against Louisville.WOLFORDS WOES: Wake Forest QB John Wolford has six interceptions and one touchdown in his last three games, while throwing it a season-high 43 times against Army. Clawson says the Demon Deacons threw 11 deep balls in that game but completed only one, and understandably wants more explosive plays through the air. We are not where I want us to be, he said.VIRGINIAS D: Maybe the Demon Deacons can get their offense fixed against a Virginia defense that ranks among the ACCs worst. The Cavaliers are no higher than 11th in the league in any of the four major defensive stat categories, and are last in points (32.6) and yards (462.5) allowed per game.THE SERIES: Wake Forest and Virginia played every year from 1980-2003 before the divisional split led to more infrequent meetings. Its the first time theyve met since 2012 and their first meeting in Winston-Salem since 2008.---More AP college football: www.collegefootball.ap.orgDeebo Samuel 49ers Jersey . -- Patrick Reed got an early start in golf. Darya Domracheva of Belarus was second, 34.Ravindra Jadeja produced a match-winning spell, by claiming seven wickets for the first time in a Test innings, to help India thrash England by an innings and 75 runs in the fifth and final Test that ended in Chennai on Tuesday.England began the day with their openers Alastair Cook and Keaton Jennings still at the crease. Their task, on paper was simple, survive for as long as possible - to play for a draw - or risk a batting collapse that could cost them the Test.On a ragged fifth day surface, the odds were stacked against the tourists and Virat Kohli, Indias captain, introduced his spin mainstay, R Ashwin, first up. Ashwin failed to find the break through as Jennings and Cook saw their side through to lunch.Jadeja, not Ashwin, troubled Englands batsmen in the first session and he continued after the interval by dismissing Cook for the sixth time in the series. The Cook-Jennings combine added 103 runs for the first wicket. It was to be Englands biggest partnership as, barring Moeen Ali with 44, the rest of their batsmen offered little resistance. Jennings was Jadejas second victim, as he chipped a return catch back to the bowler.Joe Root, Englands mainstay, followed as he misread the length of a Jadeja delivery and was trapped lbw. At tea, England stood at 167 for 4. Ali and Ben Stokes had provvided some stability with a 63-run stand for the fifth wicket.ddddddddddddEight overs after the interval, Alis patience ran out and he miscued a slog against Jadeja to Ashwin at mid on. Stokes fell two overs later to the same bowler. England was reduced to 193 for 6 at that stage and the end seemed near. Jadeja claimed two more wickets, while Umesh Yadav and Amit Mishra claimed one each to complete a comprehensive win. This was Jadejas first ten-wicket haul in Test cricket. He ended with figures of 10 for 154 in this Test, including 7 for 48 in the second innings, both career-best figures. His previous best innings figures was 6 for 138 in Durban in 2013-14.We understood that if we got a couple of wickets, it could slide pretty quickly, Jadeja doing his job, picking up seven - it was great to watch, Kohli said. We conceded 400 but ended up winning by an innings, that doesnt happen very often. We worked hard day in, day out, we dont care what happens outside, lots of respect in the changing room. Thats how we ended up being in a winning position more often than not. Every time we were under the pump, weve fronted up. The lower order has made outstanding contributions. ' ' '
