ST. PETERSBURG, Russia -- Atletico Madrid settled for a 1-1 draw at Zenit St. Petersburg in the Champions League on Tuesday after conceding an own goal in the closing stages of their Group G match. Atletico, which had already qualified for the knockout stage, opened the scoring with a solo effort from Adrian Lopez in the 53rd minute -- only for Toby Alderweireld to head Igor Smolnikovs cross from the right into his own net in the 74th. Zenit dominated possession in the the first half but failed to convert its chances. Hulk tested Thibaut Courtois with a powerful shot from outside the box in the 14th minute, Zenits first effort on goal. Six minutes later, Zenit squandered a clearer chance when there was no-one in front of the visitors empty net to meet Smolnikovs cross from the right, while striker Alexander Kerzhakov came close to scoring after a cross by Hulk. Atletico created only one scoring opportunity in the first half, when Yuri Lodygin dived to his left to save Kokes half-volley one minute before the break. Zenit kept up the pressure after the break, with Hulk forcing Courtois to block his low left-foot shot from just outside the box in the 47th. Instead, the breakthrough came at the other end after Roman Shirokov failed to open the scoring with a weak shot in the box and Atletico launched a quick counter attack. Raul Garcia put Lopez through and the striker eluded defender Tomas Hubocan before beating Lodygin in a one-on-one -- slipping the ball between the keepers legs. The home side was gifted an equalizer after Smolnikov broke down the right flank and Alderweirelds header beat Courtois as it flew into the top left corner. Once level, the home side pushed for a winner in the final stages but never really came close, while Lodygin denied Garcia from close range. "I think, we have played a good match against a strong opponent," Zenit coach Luciano Spalletti said. "But we didnt create many chances because our opponents kept it tight and were well-organized in defence." Atletico leads the group with 13 points. Zenit has six, two points more than Porto which was playing last-place Austria Vienna later on Tuesday. Robert Green Chelsea Jersey . Maximilian Arnold put Wolfsburg ahead in the eighth minute, when the stationary Fallou Diagne allowed him to guide Patrick Ochs cross beyond the helpless Freiburg goalkeeper, and Ivica Olic doubled the lead three minutes later after Luiz Gustavo did well to set him up. Cesar Azpilicueta Jersey . -- Jake Peavy arrived at Bostons spring training complex on Monday with a large white bandage covering his left index finger, the result of a weekend accident. http://www.chelseafcproshop.com/. "Win basketball games," Collins said. He will get at least a few more chances. Collins played the final minutes of a winning home debut with the Brooklyn Nets, who cooled off the Chicago Bulls with a 96-80 victory Monday night. Olivier Giroud Jersey . With the final four being arguably the four best – and most complete – teams from the regular season, picking a winner is not as easy as it sounds. David Luiz Chelsea Jersey . Jose Bautista homered for the fifth straight game in the sixth inning, following a two-out solo homer by Melky Cabrera. Edwin Encarnacion led off the seventh with a homer to tie the game 3-3 and, with two out in the seventh, Munenori Kawasaki came through with the two-out single to score pinch-runner Steve Tolleson with what proved to be the winning run.LONDON -- Lukas Podolski scored twice as Arsenal came from a goal down to beat West Ham 3-1 in the Premier League on Tuesday and provisionally reclaim the last Champions League spot. Arsenal trailed to Matthew Jarvis 40th-minute opener, but Podolski equalized before the break and Arsenal dominated the second half. Olivier Giroud made amends for an earlier miss by showing off a delicate touch in the area to put Arsenal ahead in the 55th and Podolski finished off the win with another clinical strike in the 78th. Arsenal leapfrogged Everton into fourth place, although the Merseyside club is only one point behind with a game in hand. "It was a hard-fought win, but a very, very important one," Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said. "The key was (to score) just before halftime. In the second half we controlled well the game." Coming off their penalty-shootout win against Wigan in the FA Cup semifinals on Saturday, Arsenal looked sluggish at the start. West Ham was the better team for the first 30 minutes, but when the opening goal came it was against the run of play following a period of sustained Arsenal pressure. Kim Kallstrom, making his first start for Arsenal since joining on loan in January, lost track of Antonio Nocerino down the right flank as the West Ham player broke into the area. Nocerinos shot was stopped by Wojciech Szczesny, but Jarvis was there to head in the rebound in a goalmouth scramble. Jarvis then could have earned a penalty shortly afterward when Bacary Sagna clearly clipped his legs in the area, but he stayed on his feet and the referee waved play on. "Im grateful for thhat," Wenger said about Jarvis staying on his feet.dddddddddddd "I dont think it was a penalty, but he touched him. Can you be too honest? Ill leave you that judgement." West Ham manager Sam Allardyce certainly thought so. "The facts are that when you stay on your feet the referees dont give penalties," Allardyce said. "When theres contact, you have to go down and make the referees mind up for him. Theres no reward for honesty." Arsenal responded shortly thereafter as Santi Cazorla found Podolski in the area and the Germany forward took one touch to create space before slotting a clinical finish inside the far post. Before that, Giroud had wasted Arsenals two best chances as the France striker couldnt make contact with Podolskis cross in the 14th, and then wasted a one-on-one opportunity in the 30th. Cazorla picked out Giroud that time as well, but the Frenchman went for finesse rather than power, trying to chip the ball with the outside of his boot past Adrian, but the goalkeeper palmed it away. Giroud made no mistake the next time, however, after Thomas Vermaelen picked him out with a long ball into the area. Giroud downed it with a perfect first touch and then slotted a shot between Adrians legs to put the hosts up for good. Arsenal kept pressing and the third goal came after Giroud broke down the left and sent a high pass in toward substitute Aaron Ramsey, who picked out Podolski with a header and the German blasted a high shot into the net. "Hes a fantastic finisher," Wenger said of Podolski. "The one you want to have a chance is him." ' ' '
