LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Rams released quarterback Nick Foles on Wednesday after failing to find a trade destination for the disgruntled veteran. The Rams announced the move one day before their veterans report to training camp for their homecoming season in Southern California.Foles hasnt been around the Rams since they traded up to choose California quarterback Jared Goff with the No. 1 pick in the draft this spring. The veteran skipped offseason workouts while Los Angeles attempted to trade him.Instead, the Rams had to release a capable veteran quarterback without compensation after teams likely realized they could attempt to sign Foles as a free agent. We have been in contact with Nick and his representation throughout the offseason, and we feel that this is the best decision for all parties involved, Rams coach Jeff Fisher said in a statement. We appreciate the contributions that Nick has made to our organization in his time as a Ram and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.Foles spent just one disappointing season with the Rams, who acquired him from Philadelphia in a trade for Sam Bradford. Los Angeles also got a second-round pick in the deal, and they used it as part of the package to move up to grab Goff.Foles started 11 games for St. Louis, including the first nine of the season. He passed for 2,052 yards and seven touchdowns with 10 interceptions, never having a 300-yard game and failing to breathe much life into the NFLs worst passing offense.Foles eventually lost the starting job to Case Keenum, who played the final four games of the Rams 12th consecutive non-winning season.Goff and Keenum are competing for the top job at the Rams training camp in Irvine, California, over the next five weeks. Sean Mannion and Dylan Thompson also are on the roster for the Rams, who hold their first public workout Saturday.Fisher initially said he hoped Goff would start their season opener at San Francisco in September, but has since downplayed the importance of that possibility. The coach described Keenum as the Rams starting quarterback when offseason workouts concluded last month, but Goff will have the chance to play his way onto the field.Foles made the Pro Bowl with the Eagles in 2013, throwing 27 touchdown passes with just two interceptions in a remarkable second season in the NFL. The University of Arizona product hasnt recaptured that magic, with the Eagles and Rams giving up on him in consecutive offseasons.---AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and AP NFL Twitter feed: http://twitter.com/AP-NFLAir Jordan 1 OG Outlet .com) - Following a late-game loss to the reigning NBA champs, the Toronto Raptors will look to sustain their recent high-level play as they travel to Indiana to take on the Pacers. The last group of the League of Legends World Championship (Worlds), Group B, needed every single game to determine its final two teams. At one point, there were three teams with a record of 2-3 with only two games left to play for the day -- it truly was a free-for-all group. In the end, the defending Worlds champion, SK Telecom T1 (SKT) and Cloud 9 (C9) qualified for the quarterfinals.Winner of the day: SK Telecom T1The cream of the crop showed up in elite form for the final day of the group stage. SKT showcased its versatility in the draft phase and its game play. The South Korean team snowballed the teams it was expected to beat (I May) and played disciplined and calculated League of Legends to prevent potential upsets against C9 and Flash Wolves. Scarier still, every member of SKT played a standout game. Whether it was the support, the AD carry, or even the weaker top lane, it was a balanced attack and dominant day. SKT should be the favorite for the rest of Worlds if its group play was any indication.Losers of the day: I May and Flash WolvesI May almost lucked itself into a quarterfinals berth, but the sloppy play that plagued the Chinese team continued until its exit from the group stage. I May was either out-drafted in composition (SKTs poke-heavy lineup) or just outplayed (C9s winning the early game). Even in its lone victory over the Flash Wolves, the team played aimlessly after it took an objective and gold lead. I May was simply not ready to move on and every team, with the exception of Flash Wolves throw, exposed the gap.Flash Wolves fell into this category based off of its record and schedule.dddddddddddd Flash Wolves needed to beat the top team from the group, SKT, in order to enter a tiebreaker with C9 but failed to do so. The team did not necessarily play poorly, it just couldnt hang long enough to force a tie. One team needed to lose out of C9 and Flash Wolves and the better team exited.Team that needed improvement: Cloud 9C9 played well enough to qualify out of its group, but there were still many shortcomings and errors in its outings. All in all, the North American team looked strong in one and a half games and rather weak for the rest of its matchups. The teams damage-dealers were wholly inconsistent and individual play was necessary at multiple situations to bail the team out. In its game against SKT, it was just Jung Impact Eon-yeong that made a lasting impression, but then he disappeared for the rest of the day. After that, there were only isolated standout performances from each of the core farmers of C9, Nicolaj Jensen Jensen and Zach Sneaky Scuderi.C9 played most of its games with the late-game in mind and forced the opposition to crawl at its pace -- which was a positive if the opposition was also weak in that department. But, the downside to the strategy is that its simple to beat: just aggressively punish C9s weaker lanes and rotate for advantageous forced fights. If C9 wants to continue its Worlds journey, it needs to adapt and develop different strategies outside of its mid and late game focus. ' ' '
